{10} Siblings are Eternal Best Friends
Today I am visiting my family in Las Vegas! I have spent all day with my younger brother, Mason, playing video games, doing puzzles, and just having a grand old time. I am especially close to my siblings, but Mason and I are extra extra close. We have gone through 2 divorces together, and we really can understand each others hardships and trials. since we are relatively close in age, it is easy to have fun together. we both love playing video games and rock climbing, and doing lots of fun things together. I am grateful I understand the Plan of Salvation, because I know I can have a forever best friend that will love me unconditionally.
{9} Attributes of an Effective Missionary
I am currently taking a class about Missionary Preparation. In that class, we had to write a paper to our Stake President outlining six attributes we want to develop to become a more effective missionary. My six attributes were:
- Charity- we need to love everyone, regardless of their acceptance of our doctrine
- Patience- trusting in the Lord's timing
- In tune with the Holy Ghost- to be able to teach effectively and in harmony with God's will
- Hardworking- a mission will be hard but we must give everything we have
- Testimony of the Savior-our entire doctrine is centered around Christ
- Humility- Let the Lord work through you, and do as he desires.
I chose these because I believed they would most help someone in a missionary situation, and they are all attributes that I can work on and better in myself
{8} The Most Important Job in The World
Lately, I have been smacked in the face with how overworked and under appreciated mothers are in our lives. Being away from home, it can be difficult, especially if you've never been away from home before. There's nobody to help you when you're sick when you're a grown up!!
Especially in this time in the Church where women are trying to show their independence, I believe the role of a mother is being downplayed. To raise and rear children is the most important and divine jobs on this earth, and it is not a shameful thing if that is the only 'job' you have.
My mom is someone I am especially grateful for. She's had trials in her life as long as I can remember, and she handles them with grace. If I turn out to be half the mom she is, my kids will be lucky.
So ladies and gentlemen, remember to thank the woman that raised you! You owe her!!!
{7} A House May Be a Home
I currently live at the Lodges at Glenwood. While I love the ward I'm in, the apartments themselves leave much to be desired! So, my roommates and I started looking for somewhere else to live. While at the BYU housing fair, we came across a place called Moon Apartments. We later went to look at the property, and saw that they had a house on property that was available to rent! It was so cute and perfectly fit our needs! We signed that very day! My roommate Kenzie and I both signed on to private rooms, which we decided we needed after two semesters of living in shared rooms! We can move in in April, and we couldn't be more excited!!!{6} Social media: The Book of Mormon Challenge
This month I was challenged by a friend to something called 'the Book of Mormon Challenge" where we were supposed to share on our social media accounts our testimony of the Book of Mormon, and a picture of us holding it. the idea was to flood the media with as many Latter Day Saints doing this as possible, to gain interest to those who may have seen it. Here is my post:
This is the Book of Mormon! It's been around all my life, but I discover it every time I open it. No matter how much I read, each day I find something new to strengthen and inspire me! It's helped me in my darkest times and my lightest ones! I love this book and this gospel. Watch this video to learn more! https://m.youtube.com/watch?sns=em&v=fGhI4p4G1P4.#discoverthebook

I really think this was a great way to use new methods of media in a positive way, as told in elder Bendar's talk " To Sweep the World as with a Flood" (analysis to come).

{5} Family Search is AWESOME
This month Ive really gotten into family history. Partly for the research project I have to do for my writing class, and partly because my ward is stressing getting family names done! and Im shocked to find that it is really exciting! theres not really anything like the feeling of finding an ancestor who's work hasnt been done. I found two names with my grandpa's help, and one on my own, this week alone! its kind of addicting, and it makes me appreciate how far media has come. in the past, people have had to go through physical paper records, and I for one am grateful thats not the only way i can do family work!!! i know that ordinances for our ancestors are one of the most important things we can be doing!! And its a lucky side effect that it is fun!!
{4} Three Great Months
I just wanted to post a shoutout to my boyfriend, Travis. This week was our three month mark, and like the total stud he is, he made me dinner and it was amazing. Something called chicken bundles, which I had never heard of. I was skeptical, but in the end I was happily surprised to find that they were delicious!
Just a quick bit about Travis, he is 21, from Kaysville Utah, and he is amazing! He is so sweet and always goes out of his way to make me happy! For Valentines day, (since ill be out of town on the 14th) he got me some jewelry from a rock shop in orem. now thats exactly my style, especially since Im an Environmental Science major, and it was so sweet of him to know exactly what I would like! He is such a sweetie!!

{3} The Artful Potters
A little while ago me, my roommate Kenzie, and my boyfriend Travis really wanted to go on a fun adventure. Since Travis and I have starving student cards, we got a free studio fees at Color Me Mine. Thats a place where you get to pick out your own pottery and paint it however you want! we all took our pieces very seriously and worked hard. I painted a mug to drink hot chocolate from, and im very pleased with how it turned out! Im so glad I got a starving student card, since it lets me do so many fun things!! heres how my mug turned out...

{2} Snow Day!
I am LOVING the college life! On Martin Luther King Day, me, my roommate, and my boyfriend went up to Sundance to snowboard! I've been boarding for years, but it was my roommates first time, so we spent a majority of the day teaching her how. It was so warm and there wasn't a ton of snow, but we sure had fun and I got to work on a bunch of skills. Plus, we found tickets for 25$ off! What a deal! It was a great chance to get closer to my roommate:)
